Aggregate Industries is a leader producer of sand and gravel throughout the US. Sand and gravel aggregate is produced in each of Aggregate Industries’ regional locations.
Sand & Gravel—Sand and gravel aggregate is produced in each of Aggregate Industries’ regional business units. These resources, harvested from both glacial and alluvial deposits, are processed by a series of crushing, screening and washing operations. The aggregate produced is subsequently used in the manufacture of ready mixed concrete, asphalt, pre-cast concrete products and as natural mineral base and for many other uses in most construction projects. Our diligent quality control and flexible processing plants ensure that a wide variety of products are available to meet the needs and specifications of federal, state and local agencies, as well as commercial and residential contractors. Our sand and gravel products are also used for ice control to keep highways safe during inclement weather, for filtration purposes and have been used to rebuild beach environments along the shores of Lake Michigan. Aggregate Industries utilizes trucks, railroads and barges to deliver these products to our customers.
Aggregate Industries’ Mid Atlantic region’s aggregate division is anchored by two of the largest stone quarries in our market area. The Rockville Quarry in Maryland is the nearest quarry to the Capital, located just 12 miles northwest of Washington DC. In West Virginia, the Millville quarry is the largest crushed stone operation in the state, and is connected to a rail network linking it to terminals in Bladensburg and Baltimore, Maryland. In fact, the division has established an aggregate delivery network that provides unsurpassed flexibility and reach in the region. Our Sand and Gravel operations meet the requirements of our many customers, as well as our own network of ready mixed concrete plants throughout the area.
Be sure to check out our new Custom Soil Blends division. We are proud to feature our new, specially formulated structural soil product called CU Structural Soil. Aggregate Industries is the area’s largest licensed producer of CU Structural Soil, an aggregate product designed to meet or exceed pavement design and installation requirements while remaining root penetrable and supportive of tree growth.
The Mid Atlantic region’s aggregate products are a part of a long-standing tradition of quality and dependability. For your next project, call on Aggregate Industries, the one-stop shopping source for aggregates, ready mixed concrete, soil recycling and landscaping stone.
