Our senior management team has adopted a new Safety Policy Statement that guides us in our ongoing initiatives. Our committment to safety is presented to every employee before they begin work and can constantly strive to improve our safety training and safety management systems.

The objective of our Safety Policy is to significantly reduce and virtually elimate the word "accident" from our working lives. At Aggregate Industries, our employees are personally committed to the attainment of these goals and make safety an integral part of every task, every day.

As an example of our continuous improvement, our Sloan Mountain Quarry operation in Las Vegas, Nevada recently won the National Mining Association and the Mine Safety and Health Administration's prestigious Sentinels of Safety Award. This award is co-sponsored by both MSHA and the NMA, and only 5% of all mining operations even qualify for the award each year.
