UDOT's Contractor of the Year award.

Frehner Construction name "Contractor of the Year"

On January 27th, 2007 at the annual Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) award banquet, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) awarded Frehner Construction Company the large contractor of the year award.  This is the second time Frehner was given this honor. Frehner also received the award in 2004, the first-ever contractor of the year award. UDOT created the award to recognize superior performance by contractors on UDOT projects.

Contractors are nominated by UDOT resident engineers. The engineers identify specific areas of importance that the contractor distinguished themselves above their competition.  The nominations are then evaluated by a selection team at central construction.

The areas of performance evaluated include: timely completion, consistency of workmanship with or without UDOT inspection, timely and accurate submission of project documentation (payrolls, certifications, change order documentation, traffic control, erosion control, etc.), cooperation in problem solving, fair and equitable negotiation of change orders, safety, public satisfaction, traffic control, efficiency of work, quality of materials, and overall contractor performance rating from past projects.
