The Mid-Atlantic Region is our aggregate, asphalt and ready mixed concrete business serving the markets in Washington, DC, Maryland, northern Virginia, and West Virginia.

Aggregate Industries Mid-Atlantic Region operates the largest quarry in West Virginia and the nearest quarry to Washington, DC. Sand and gravel operations supply aggregate to the region's network of ready mix concrete plants in the Washington DC metropolitan area and to other customers in the market. Both rail and barge transportation is utilized to move aggregate to the market.

The Region recently comissioned brand new asphalt and ready mixed concrete plants at our Bladensburg site in the District of Columbia. Additionally, the acquisition of Brett Aggregates, Inc., an important producer of sand and gravel products in the greater Richmond Virginia area and the Shenandoah Valley near Harrisonburg, was completed in June 2008.
