CU Structural Soil

Urban Tree Planting: A New System to Integrate Trees and Pavement
Aggregate Industries is the area's largest licensed producer of CU Structural Soil, an aggregate product designed to meet or exceed pavement design and installation requirements while remaining root penetrable and supportive of tree growth.

CU Structural Soil provides a continuous base course under pavements while providing a material for tree root growth. This shifts designing away from individual tree pits to an integrated, root penetrable, high strength pavement system.

CU Structural Soil is specially mixed at several of Aggregate Industries plant locations. Materials tested are gap-graded gravels, which are made up of crushed stone, clay loam, and a specially formulated hydrogel stabilizing agent. The materials can be compacted to meet all relevant pavement design requirements yet allow for sustainable root growth.

Contact an Aggregate Industries sales rep today for more information on CU Structural Soil. For additional information about the value of using CU Structural Soil on your next project, a brochure explaining the benefits of using CU Soil is available.
