The Michigan Aggregates Association Honors Aggregate Industries with the 2009 Safety Award Aggregate Industries Midwest Region (Central Region) Receives Safety Awards for 10 of its facilities Kalamazoo, MI, August 2, 2010 – Aggregate Industries Midwest Region (Central Region) received the 2009 Safety Awards from the Michigan Aggregates Association (MAA) for 10 of its facilities including Battle Creek Plant, Chelsea Plant, Edwardsburg Plant, Sweet plant, and Wayland Plant. Recently, Aggregate Industries has launched the National Safety Recognition and Celebration Program, “Zero Harm to People”, that reinforces the Company’s ongoing safety management system across the regions. The program’s key objective is to reduce incident frequency and the severity of those incidents.
The Michigan Aggregates Association (MAA) is a non-profit trade association founded in 1960 by a group of conscientious and environmentally concerned aggregate producers to protect and promote the interests, growth, and welfare of the Michigan aggregate industry.
